I have just replaced all the cartridges and the only colour which is printing is blue. They are all securely in place and clicked in correctly, I have tried cleaning the heads and nothing is working. Help?

I would like to purchase a new printer.

My usage is mainly word documents, sometimes colour maps etc.
I would want something with the facility for scanning/copying as well.

Fairly inexpensive, but willing to pay a bit more if good value considering the next two requirements:
Fairly fast
Ink cartridges that wont break the bank.

Thank you for your advice.

I am thinking of purchasing an Epson multipurpose printer/scanner/copier to replace my Canon MP 360, and have difficulty in deciding between the current DX [copier series] 5000, and the RX [photo copier series] 520, which having been replaced recently by the updated RX 640 is now available at a substantial reduction bringing the price in line with the newer DX 5000.

The only differences that I have discerned are that the RX 520 has a small preview screen, incorporates picbridge/card slots, scans up to 2400 dpi against 1200 for the DX 5000, but prints a little slower. It has 8 mil individual ink tanks, which although dearer than the 5.5 mil tanks on the DX 5000, appears to work out at a similar cost per mil overall assuming that ink usage is similar for both machines since they share an identical print resolution, but use different grade inks.

Unfortunately I've been unable to find the knowledgable and understanding PC World staff shown on TV to resolve this and assist my purchase

HP doesn't have an update yet for compatibility with the IE 7 browser. Is there a way to configure the browser to accept the printer? I need for the HP Director dialog box to come up and it won't do it with IE 7 installed. Beats me why.

I'm looking to buy an inexpensive but reliable printer/scanner/copier. 90% of the work it will be doing will be b&w text (I'm a writer) but there also be the odd scan of artwork I will need to do, and copying of printed text. Where should I look, what should I look for, where can I get a good deal, and what experience have you all had?

ok, apologies to anyone who helped me in the past with this problem but im still having trouble. I have a Dell Dimension 5150 pc, its less than a year old. My Lexmark all in one printer packed up so i recently bought another lexmark (x5470). The problem is i cant get it to work. Either the pc freezes up at the last part of installment or a message comes up saying 'no communication check leads' etc which i know are all ok. Ive tried going back to a restore point. Ive unistalled the old printer software, and installed and uninstalled the new one loads of times but still no joy. I have obviously contacted lexmark and the chap in Delhi is very helpful but although i follow his instructions to the letter nothing works, this is really doing my head in!!!! My only option i think is to completly wipe my hard drive and start again.Has anyone got any idea what the problem is.
Thank you

1. I have an HP PSC 1410-All-in-one

2. I was trying to print an envelope, and it got jammed. So, I cleared the jam, and then I canceled the document that was in the queue. Then I tried to print other documents and it wouldn't, because that same document is in queue and in the process of deleting, and it's been ten minutes. So, I logged off and logged back on hoping that would clear the document from the queue, but it's still there. Because it's there, it won't let any other documents print. Someone PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!

Which printers are better in general---HP or Canon? I am leaning toward the HP 6940 (or 6980-wireless) OR the HP 7100 series with the separate color tanks (the 02 cartridges).

If I go with Canon, I will get the Pixma 6000 series.

Any suggestions? Which company is more reliable, has better and more cost efficient inks?

If you do then great because I want to connect my computer to connect to my laptop to print wirelessly. I don't know what type of information I need to provide, but I know that somehow I can. I've done it before but we had to switch computers because the other one caught a virus. Well, it's a DELL AIO, and I have it connected to my desktop with wires. I want it to connect to my laptop without wires. I don't know what I need to do. I selected the information on my driver disc to connect to our wireless network, and I added it with my IP address.

HP only do a replacement service which is very expensive and my printer has a part that has fallen off but is not broken. If I can get a manual or schematic I should be able to fix it. The printer is out of warranty but £124 seems a lot to have someone who knows put the part back in place as it might be very simple
