In general Lexmark frowns upon refilling carts and have chips inside to discourage users by making refilled carts not work. There are chip-reset-ers out there though.

They all frown on it, but there are ways around it and they work fine. Google over and take a look at "Lexmark Refillable Inks". You will get alot of info there.
