I uninstalled it and reinstalled and even re-formatted my computer, it still won't recognise the printer when I plug it.

Just about TOO MANY people are having problems with IE 7. I will suggest that you downgrade to IE 6. To do so, go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Hit 'Show Updates', if necessary. Then uninstall IE 7, this will automatically downgrade your browser to version 6. You can customise IE 6 to have tabbed browsing using Yahoo! Toolbar's special features.

A better option would be to switch over to Mozilla Firefox browser. http://www.mozilla.com/ It is smaller, faster and much safer than either IE 7 or IE 6.
Tip: Do NOT try to delete IE after you get Firefox, and do NOT make Firefox as your 'default browser' either. Windows requires IE for many vital online processes.

Reinstall the printer.

From the Start Menu go to Printers and Faxes
Click on Add Printer
Add a second version of your printer, making it the default printer
If the new one works, delete the original printer

First, where did you download IE7?

If you got it off a suspicious site, you should be careful. A virus could have attached itself to the software and entered your comp. This virus might delete your printer diver and software.

If you have Windows XP, do a system restore.

First when you open IE7, click alt->f->p to open up your printer. Then browse to see if it is installed. If not, try going into the properties of your printer and see if you can update the driver. START->printers&faxes. Then right click on your printer and select Properties.

Disconnect your printer, shut down computer and reconnect it(your cables). Then boot computer up...it should say it has detected new hardware and prompt you to install it. You just press yes. If you have old pc, just uninstall printer program and reinstall. good luck.
