I might switch to vista so I need to back-up all my files. Or, I need more space for my computer temporarily to use it as an external hard drive.

Also do you know how I might use my xbox hard drive, for my computer?

while i'm at it, i'm downloading alleged videogame files off of emule, if it's successful, do you think it would work when I burn the iso to a dvd-r disc? they're xbox, ps2 games. Hope FFXII is promising.

Which is faster in real terms, not overclocked.

The pentium d 830(2x3.0mhz) or the core duo e6600(2x2.40mhz)

I expect most people will say the core duo but i dont get it,one is 3.00mhz and the other is 2.40mhz.

Any help would be appreciated because i'm building a second computer and i want to make sure i have all the best parts in the same computer.

The 2.33ghz Core 2 Duo (T7600) processor sells for about $500 more retail than the lowest clock speed Core 2 Duo processor (I believe 1.66ghz).

My question is, does it even cost the manufacturer $5 more dollars to make a 2.33ghz than a 1.66ghz processor?

It is already past July 22 and the price of the E6750 isn't the price it is expected to be at $183. Instead, the lowest price, I've seen is about $210. What gives? Is the price ever going to be the expected $183 rumored to be?

I have a SimpleTech 160 GB external hard drive. Its making a quiet "buzzzz-click" noise. Tech support says it is defective and needs replacement. (of course!) Ive taken it apart and banged it on the table a couple of times. Any better suggestions?

The motherboard says this:

* Form Factor
ATX footprint (12" x 9.6"); Stacked USB ports
One 20-pin ATX power connector
Stacked keyboard and mouse ports
One serial and one VGA port
Two RJ-45 LAN ports with LED

And the case says it can handle these :
AT, ATX & Micro ATX

So i guess what im asking is.. Can the case that says it can handle ATX handle somtheing that says it has an "ATX footprint"?

Here they are if you wanna look at them

Hello there,

My computer has been running brilliantly for a while now. Last week however, I turned it on and it came up with a problem saying to "ensure that the power to the graphics card is connected".

I did just this and it was connected and continued to not work. Then... I took the fan off the processor (suspecting this as the problem) and then made sure everything was ok with it. After doing this, the computer then booted as per normal. I found this weird but ignored it...

Then yesterday, I tried to turn it on but it wouldnt boot. Everything turned on inside (fans, HDs etc) but nothing on the screen.

I suspected the CPU again and bought a new one... to no avail.
Then I changed the video card with another and still nothing...

Is this the case of a cracked or dud motherboard??
The green light is still on the motherboard however, when I try to turn it on.

I have tried taking out the RAM and HDs one by one but still nothing...

Any help is appreciated.

I can't figure this out. I am using a Pic 16F627A chip. PORTB is connected to 8 leds in series with a 120ohm resistor. The red end of my 3 v power supply is hooked to pin 14, the black end to pin 5. The short end of the leds are connected to pin 5.

My code is posted here: http://forum.microchip.com/tm.aspx?m=270363

It does absolutly nothing. Please help me!

PS according to the MPSIM software, this works correctly, it loops around and should output stuff in the leds.

I just recently bought 2 sticks of 256mb ram. I have a dual processor. I was trying to upgrade from 512 (also 2 sticks of 256 ram) to a full 1gig. When I put in the new ram with the old, it did not work, so I took out the new sticks and only left the old ones in there... but now that won't work either!!!!

My computer seems to be turning on, but nothing is on the screen. The CD / DVD drive lights up, ect. Any ideas?
