The laptop is currently using 1024 x 768. It has S Video and VGA ports.

If it was to be connected to an external widescreen display (16:10), would the laptop be able to support it as in display the widescreen resolution on the display correctly and not the normal resolution (4:3) the laptop currently displays on its own screen?

It'll be set up with the mirror feature so that whatever is on the laptop, will display on the widescreen display so each time the widescreen display is used, the laptop will be closed.

I don't know about drivers etc, but it's an Acer 1355XC and the display adapters it tells me are VIA/S3G KN400/KM400.

Any help on the matter is much appreciated.

Thanks.

hi, i have a 21 inch hp2105 lcd monitor and win xp sp2 os.

i set the display properties->screen saver->wait 10 minutes
monitor power settings->power schemes=home/office desk
turn off monitor=>after 10 mins
system standby=>after 30 mins

after 10 minutes the screen will go blank and there is a display saying that "monitor is going to sleep", but immediately it turns back on.

after 30 mins the monitor will go to sleep (and system go to standby, and you have to click the user name to login).

previously, i had a sony lcd monitor that didn't have this problem, meaning it will go to sleep after 10 mins and wake up if it detects mouse movement/keyboard strokes.

anyone knows why does this happen? and how to fix it?

thanks

Hi

My mum has a bought a new PC and monitor, from seperate suppliers. However she cannot get teh Dell monitor to work vis the VGA cable or the other one - does anyone know why this would be the case and what we can do to get her back playing her games.

Her old monitor does also not work on the new PC, but how is she supposed to change settings (if thats whats required) if she can't see what she's doing?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Kohler brand "low-boy toilet. Checked inside the tank, too. I stick the bolts of the tolilet seat into the holes on top of toilet, but they don't "come-out" on the "under-side" to screw the nuts-on. How can I keep the toilet seat from moving, without having something to attach the nuts to?

< I lost the bottom part of the screen which shows the points for each play and the communication line. So I had to go back to the old resolution.

My question was: How to I maximize the board on my screen? I can hardly see it. I meant: the table. Sorry!

P.S. I am new at this and still very confused!!!

A couple days ago the resolution on my computer inexplicably got alot worse. I have no idea why this would've happened but I wanna fix it cuz things are fuzzy and killing my eyes. I dont know too much about computers but I've played around with both my moniter settings (auto adjustment etc.) and the the control panel resolution (1280 x 1024 makes things look back to normal but its too small, i wanna stay at 1024 x 768). So whats the deal, can i fix this? Oh yeah Im running windows XP if you couldnt guess.

I've had my monitor for maybe four years at the most and it has always been very reliant, but recently it would occasionally go on and off momentarily. It seems to happen almost every time I sign on to Windows XP but then doesn't happen again. Is the monitor going bad or could there be another problem? ( Oh and I have not changed anything on my computer for quite some time)
