A couple days ago the resolution on my computer inexplicably got alot worse. I have no idea why this would've happened but I wanna fix it cuz things are fuzzy and killing my eyes. I dont know too much about computers but I've played around with both my moniter settings (auto adjustment etc.) and the the control panel resolution (1280 x 1024 makes things look back to normal but its too small, i wanna stay at 1024 x 768). So whats the deal, can i fix this? Oh yeah Im running windows XP if you couldnt guess.

Check the refesh rate of your monitor.

try plugging and unplugging it.

but if it's a 1024 by 768, your monitor must be fairly new.

doesn't the resolution auto adjust when you turn it on? mine does!

if you still have your users manual, check the recommended resolution under factory settings.

when you boot up your computer you can hit ?F6? or maybe its F7 repeatedly and you should get an option to start your computer using its last known good configuration. if that doesnt work, try system restore. you said it looked fine at a high resolution so it wouldnt be your monitor. maybe its your graphics driver. If you lost power and your computer just shut down, your devices can get funky or even turn off completely. i paid $110 recently for a computer repair technician to tell me that.

Monitors can look bad if you're using a refresh rate they're not made for.
