If you're sure it's 800:1 contrast, I'd find another. I know it's painstaking to have to look for an HDTV (I'm in the same boat) but for a lot of games you want deep, rich colors and blacks. You get that with higher contrast ratios. A plasma's, although they aren't a very good choice, is about 10000:1.

I wouldn't recommend playing xbox 360 on a computer monitor, I'd look into LCD HDTVs.

The resolution for 720p and 1080i are 1280x720 and 1920x1080. To get the best image, you want to purchase an high definition TV and not a computer monitor. Also, if possible, try to buy a TV that matches one of the above resolutions.

Dell 2007WFP is a computer monitor, not a TV. It doesn't even have component inputs. It has a 16ms response time, which is really slow and you will see ghosting. It also has a DVI port and I would strongly suggest an HDMI port. That will allow compatibility with HD devices in the future.

It is not a 16:9 monitor either. It's a 16:10. That's going to cause some problems with 16:9 video games and movies.
