Look for some little symbols on your laptop keyboard... usually they are in a different color and on the right hand side or function keys.
Fund one that looks like a light or little 'sun'. you need to hold the key that is the same color as the symbol (usually it has a lable like 'Fn' for finction. there should be symbols for num-lock, volume up/down, brightness up/down, mute, contrast, etc...

You will need to hold down the Fn (function) key and press one of the numbered function keys at the top of the keyboard (F1, F2, F3, etc). There should be a symbol to say which F key will lighten and which F key will darken the screen. The same goes for adjusting the contrast - seek out the appropriate function key.

I have a Dell Inspirion E1405 I use the button labeled Fn and the up arrow key. When its plugged in its brighter than when its running off of just the battery.

Usually done by holding the blue function key down then pressing one of the function (Fx) keys. The function key will have a blue legend that resembles the brightness icon

well if the fn botton doesn't work u can also find out what graphic card u got get the update driver and it alows u depending on what grapihic card u got to adjust ur display settings...etc contrast brightness....the works

that's truly difficulty-free, in simple terms click in domicile windows and then style Brgithness, after which you will get the show to modify the shiny. I even have domicile windows 7. i do no longer understand in case you lap is vista or much less.
