The laptop is used infrequently throughout the day, and is used for about 2 hours every evening. I read somewhere that I shouldn't completely turn off the computer in between, because it's either bad for the hard drive or bad for the battery life (I can't remember which).

Most new Laptops come with one year warranty. The salespersons at the dealers always recommend getting a 3-year warranty from them (2 years on top of the mfr's 1 year with more coverage). What's the chance of a Laptop's breaking down in the first 3 years? I am scared to listen to what the salesperons have warned but C$350 is not a small amount when compared to the cost of the Laptop. Is it really very expensive to fix a Laptop as I was told? Please advise. Thanks a lot.

I have two old 15" IBM t-series notebooks (laptops) that no longer work, but the monitors do.
I want to connect one of them (or both) to a Super Nintendo that i have kicking around. I think it would be a fun project.

Please let me know if this is possible, what steps i should take (or any links, resources that i can further research).

Thanks

I bought an Inspirion 600m around 2 years ago.. About 6 months ago, the video started to stutter, like any DVDs I played, things on youtube, unrelated to that, I got a huge virus so had to reformat my computer, so I installed windows vista ultimate.. now my video card is not compatible with vista, so I can't watch dvds, and things on youtube are still stuttering.. So here's the quesiton, how do I upgrade my video card, like physically, what do I remove and replace for my laptop, and what video card should i install that works for vista and would work on an inspiron 600m??
