If your tower system is fully setup you can access resources on it. The type of access does somewhat depend on the version of XP though.

At a minimum, if you have an admin account on the tower, you should be able to connect via the network to \\\c$ and get access to the data on the C drive (if you have other disk, use the admin shares for them...i.e. d$, e$, etc...)

If you have XP Pro, you can connect using RemoteDesktop (This might be available at XP Home but I have only used the Pro version. I know MS Vista Home editions are crippled for this feature...have to have the Business editions to get this feature). RemoteDesktop would allow you to get the desktop of your tower almost as though you were sitting on the system.

Note: You could install VNC software (Virtual Network Computer) to enable viewing the desktop too. It is a free application from AT&T labs. The only warning is that it isn't very secure compared to MS RemoteDesktop or third party alternatives.

You have a problem, why not buy a video card?

If you have a network connection and you want to use the tower with the lap top you can use a progam like DMWare, this is a remote control progam that uses the network to connect to another computer.

You have to know the admisitratror id and password to install the remote progam

you opt for a video card that helps 2 video demonstrate gadgets. I did that with my equipment and you get the alternative of the two doing a brilliant video demonstrate between the two or you're able to have each video demonstrate teach precisely an identical component. The utility that incorporates the cardboard will allow you to set that up. sturdy success!
