i have an HP laptop and i keep it on a lot. my mom told me its best to keep it plugged in. should i take out the battery and have it run on the plug? or just keep it plugged in with the battery still in it? i want my battery to last the longest time it can.

It doesnt matter if the battery is in the computer, the battery wont degrade faster in or out of the PC. But remember to let it discharge to 0% and then charge it up to 100% every once in a while, this maintains the battery's long-term life of holding a charge, do it at least every month or 2 weeks.

Hope I could Help

I take my battery out when on house power. Charge it fully and then remove. I wait then for when I need the battery and discharge as much as possible before recharging. If, I not use in 3-4 weeks. I like to use and run down then recharge.
The reason. Batteries seem to last longer for myself when they Drained before recharging.
