I would like to ask if its safer to buy a laptop online.
Specially i find this website http://www.tele-matica.com/home.php
they sell cheap and good laptops .
Hope someone can help me if they are legal in selling cause i dont like to waste my money on buying without any trust to buy online.

It's between an HP or a dell. Not too expensive, but not cheap. Debating only because I've had bad experiences with dell desktops. Would be for a college student.

How well do they run? Whats their life span? If I put install a virus protection software, is the laptop itself good at blocking viruses? Is it slow? Any problems with it? Any particular model you like?

I'm referring to Battlefield 2, but I'd like the best possible experience for gaming in general. These are the laptops I'm looking at:

Toshiba satellite
-Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5300 (1.73GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 533MHz FSB)
-2048MB PC5300 DDR2 667MHz SDRAM (1024MBx2)
- nVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7600 with 256MB dedicated graphics memory

AND

HP Pavilion dv6500t Entertainment Notebook PC
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T7300 (2.00 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
2GB DDR2 (2 Dimm)
383MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS

both computers are roughly $1300 total including the service plans, norton etc.

If anyone has any other recommendations of laptops with high-end graphics cards/lots of RAM, I'm all ears. I think the maximum I'm willing to spend is $1400.
Thanks!!

I have a sony laptop that is already 6 years old. My internal CD drive has been dead for quit a while and I have got an external CD drive to do my cd writing and reading. However, the computer has recently been infected by a pretty bad virus and I need to use my system recovery cds. I now realize that the laptop is setup to boot up from the internal CD, but not the external.

I wonder if there is a way, or not, to change a setting in my computer telling it to look for system files in the external CD drive instead of the internal.

I tried to disable the internal CD (although it is not working but the computer thinks it is working properly.) but that still doen't make the computer to look in the external cd.

Thanks!

Ok, so I'm going to be traveling and won't be using my laptop. I'm scared something will happen to my battery though.
Should I leave it with the battery drained?
Should I leave it with the battery full?
Does it not matter at all?
It's not an external battery, so I can't just like take it off or anything.
There will be lots of people at home that I guess could turn it on once a week or whatever, but I really don't want to do that.
Sorry if this seems really stupid, but I just bought the darn thing and don't want to come back and see the battery is super weak (if that could happen).

Is it safe to have two fish tanks so close to my computer? Does the water evaporation pose a huge threat to my computer being exposed to too much moisture in the air? Thanks :)
