Why does my laptop freeze?

it's a dell 1000, with 512 RAM and 40 something, gbs? Have defraged and it says I have 83 percent of free space left

try to free up some space from disk cleanup in system tools,

then run defreg..

also install avg for free....

try delete sum programs. And also get a reliable antivirus like norton or bitdefender

you forgot the OS, i can do nothing without knowing the os
