I have a desktop pc and a laptop but when i download something via the internet on the deskptop pc i can hardly seem to do it but i try it on the laptop and it works fine. Is there any reason for this and how can i solve it.

It's a sony vaio laptop with window's vista I just downloaded yahoo messenger and it said to restart i did so then the laptop came on again and is stuck with the logging off forever! since we have abt 4 accounts.. me, my sister, and both my parents can anyone help?

I have a chance to buy a compaq laptop for $300. I was wanting to know if this brand is any good and if this is a good price. All I know is they paid $500 for it and it is basically brand new. Or does anyone have any suggestions on which laptop is the best? It will basically be for school, my price range would be up to $500. Also where is a good website to purchase one?

My computer have 228 MB DDR Ram,but when i loded MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL V.3 KOOL EDITION, MY COMPUTER SYSTEM PROPERTIES/GENERAL shows 192 MB RAM. In these days, i am facing very big problem.Now my computer became very slow. sometime i cannot to open media file like videos, FM. I can add RAM or not, i have no idea too, similarly i want to know, which and how speed RAM is appropriate for me.please kindly suggest me.

Every few weeks my computer shuts down for no apparent reason. I take out the charger and the battery for a night and it works the next day. It happens more frequently as of lately. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should do.

I have just ordered a laptop, and as the question states i would like to know how to connect my laptop to my existing wired AOL connection from my main PC.

I know you're all gonna say 'go wireless' but after watching the Reall Huslle on BBC3 i think wired is the safest option.

I have heard something about a WAN cable, is this right? Would i need to install AOL on my laptop or just use internet explorer? Would my main PC need to be one and logged on to use the internet on my laptop?

Could someone thoroughly explain this to me please?

My notebook is HP Compaq Presario X1315 with preinstalled 256 MB of RAM. I'm thinking of upgrading the RAM to 1GB, so I'm now shopping around for RAMs in the market. My preinstalled RAM's specs are as follows:

DDR RAM, 266 MHz, 256 MB.

After shopping around for some time, I found that most shops sell the DDR RAM type with 400 MHz. Does the MHz thing matter? Is the MHz necessary to be the same as the preinstalled one? Are there other compatibility issues to consider when upgrading RAM?

I spilled a glass of soda on it last week and now it has stopped working. Not surprising really. Is there any way of cleaning it up? Can I do it myself or do I need a proffesional. Are there proffesionals who do this? My lap top is completely filthy anyway. Any help would be gratefully received.

I am using Mac OS X (version 10.3.9). There is a default font for desktop item names like "Macintosh HD" and "Trash" etc. I would like to change it and make it larger. Is this possible to do and how do I do it?

Ok, My laptop Advent 7081, keeps making a bleeping noise then switching of. It does it after a certain amount of time of being on it, or sometimes straight away. Its charging because the screen is lit so i know its not battery problems. I have no idea what maybe causing this.

They use desktop processors ie. e6500 and e6600's. Is it better? Or is it just the same?
