Take out the battery, wait 5 minutes, put it back, that should do the trick.

Yahoo Messenger can cause this on a computer with a small hard drive and a slow processor. You need to make sure that it is completely shut down before you reboot. When you exit Yahoo IM, it doesn't close it all the way. You have to right click on the icon located at the bottom right hand corner of the screen and click "exit." If that doesn't do the trick, simply hold the power button down until the computer turns off, then turn it back on. If the problem still persists, I would remove YahooIM from the laptop, or either call or take it to a professional. There are many detailed steps to take beyond what I told you already, so you are better off contacting a professional.

I will not be here, off work and got a lot of stuff to do so maybe I'll be online tomorrow night at home.

Hold the power button down until it turns off. Turn it back on and see if it comes up.
