They use desktop processors ie. e6500 and e6600's. Is it better? Or is it just the same?

Will it depends on what you are looking for in your laptop. If you want pure power then having a desktop processor will be good. If you want good battery life however, you will want to stay with laptop processors, they use less power.

Okay, just took a look at Intel's site.

First obvious difference between the desktopo and laptop processors is that the desktop processors (e6600's etc) have a 1066 FSB while the laptop processors (t7600's etc) have a 800 FSB.

Processor speeds, cache, die etc all seem to be the same.

When you look at the power usage you find a big difference. The E6600 uses 65 Watts of power while the T7600 uses 34 Watts of power. Less power to the processor means better battery life.

Of course, there are a lot of other components sucking back the juice so how much difference it makes in the end is hard to tell. However, maximum gaming power pretty much almost means awful battery life.

Hope that helps
