I don't own a Mac, but I was wondering since I might be considering to get a Macbook. Also, are the base Macbook's any good? They have 1GB of RAM, 2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo processor and 80GB Hard Drive. No Windows rocks, Apple sucks answers!

The screen is now a light green tint and was shorting out for a while but it seems like the shorting out has stoped...

Will it get better or worse?

I have been looking for a college laptop for quite a while now, and I've finally narrowed my choices down, but do have a few questions.

The choice is mainly between the Lenovo T61p and the Asus G1S-A1 (aka simply G1S). (Note: Money is not an issue/factor so please don't worry about cost - and no, I don't want an Alienware and I want something 15" or less).

1. I know that Lenovo builds top quality laptops, but how about Asus? Are they problem-prone, do they fall apart, will they last 2-4 years?

2. I'm leaning more towards the G1S simply because of the better components, yet I do feel that this laptop may have some heating issues for some odd reason.

3. Is Intel Turbocache or Fingerprint reader really that great, or could one easily live without them?

4. Finally, for someone who wants to do a bit of everything (some Adobe, Office 2007, gaming, movie watching, music listening, etc...), which laptop is best suited for the job?

Again, personal experiences are great... Thanks.

Can I upgrade my MacBook Pro's hard drive?

I have 120 GB but I need more, is there any store or website where I can upgrade?

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 and I like to upgrade my video card. From looking at the bottom, it looks like the only possible thing I can remove myself is the hard drive and RAM. But do you think there are people out there that can help on this?

The 802.11n card is going to jack up the price by $60. Is the "n" service widely available yet? Would I be better off just upgrading at a later time?

On a side note, just wanted to confirm... "No Wireless LAN (Antenna Only)" means that I would have to purchase a PC card with an antenna sticking out the side, correct?

...So I've heard.
Is it true? Because my laptop (which is new) is very slow so to speak. It's an HP Pavilion dv6000 and it's hot most of the time to the point that I can smell the smoke. ( NO it's not burning, i can just smell the steam or something )

Help?

My Inspiron 700m is a little over two years old, and now the monitor is flickering with huge bands of color, sometimes the color bands stay unless I press on the monitor. In some positions the whole monitor is white-washed, so I can barely see anything. Is my computer dying? Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is it time to buy a new notebook? Thanks.

I'm a graphic design student looking to upgrade my dell latitude d600 until I can buy another computer. My laptop is completely factory.. and has 512 ram. I know you can never have too much ram but I just want to make sure I'm getting the hardware for my laptop to improve it for this problem.

I already know what memory I need and costs.. just looking for a general answer. Usually its Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash.

I have a Dell laptop. Awhile back, the X came off. I looked at the other peoples questions and snapped it back on, I thought it was fixed. Well, it's off again, did I do it wrong? You can kinda see under it in the front.

If so, do you like it? Does it have a wireless modem? I am not a computer person, but I think this has the things I want for the price I want to pay. I can't figure about the modem (it says it has a 56K v92 Modem RJ-11port) Does that mean it is wireless? Thanks and all you smart computer people, stop laughing at me if this question was stupid :)

Does anyone know of a MMORPG that could run on a UMPC that is free to play?

For those unfamiliar with UMPCs, they are fairly low-powered PCs that have approximately 900mhz-1ghz Celeron or Intel M processor, 512mb-2gb ram, and could be played with minimal features with only a mouse.

I have tried Anarchy Online already and it does not accept the generic intel graphics to be compatible.
