Flickering LCD on Inspiron 700m?

My Inspiron 700m is a little over two years old, and now the monitor is flickering with huge bands of color, sometimes the color bands stay unless I press on the monitor. In some positions the whole monitor is white-washed, so I can barely see anything. Is my computer dying? Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is it time to buy a new notebook? Thanks.

Hi. There is a flexible cable built in to the hinge. This may be loose or failing. Should be easy to fix if its just loose.
