i was eating grapes that had been washed and i accidentally split some water , a little blob of water on one of my speakers on my mac, i dont think it sank in as when i wiped it away the blob of water went on my finger but still, would it matter if i split alittle bit of water?? it wont get ruined would it??

I'm using sony Sony DVD ROM. When I hit the eject button, it just blinks its light and stays inside itself. I was happening to click many times to get it out.

What could be done to solve this problem ??

heres the problem my pc completely crashed so all i was left with was the black and white bios screen giving me options like start in safe mode start with safe mode plus command prompt and so on and so on..... i've tried all of these options and none of these ever got my pc on. (it's kind of like when you're rtying to start a car and it won't turn over.) what are my options here? do i have to completely reinstall my OS and lose all my files? or is there a way to restore? at the very least, is there a way to retrieve all my files before reinstalling my OS?

first off some specs, ive got an IBM T23 laptop computer (ok so technicaly its lenovo) 6-cell Lithium Ion battery manufactured by Sanyo. for the past hour my battery gauge has been showing 1% ive recently been on a re-conditioning rampage (3 times this month). because the battery that was designed to have a full charge capacity of 38.88 watt hours is now peaking at 12.3 Wh. would this mean by battery is mis-calibrated? if so how the hell do i get this thing to calibrate???

i was wandering if its possible with linux.....
i whant to reinstall windows on my laptop but i dont have cd drive..
if u reinstall win xp on desktop pc and then connect that HDD to laptop it will not work (right?)..
is linux same way? if u install it on desktop pc and then connect that HDD to laptop will it work?

I will soon be in a job where I commute half the week home half the week, and want to buy a powerful but affordable portable computer. I don't even know the diff between a laptop and a notebook. Whichever is most portable with an adult sized keyboard and a nice screen. Any suggestions? This is for leisure use. I would like to use it for DVD, mp3, and small games (less than 100MB programs stored in the hard drive running out of RealArcade, etc). Hoping to spend less than 1000 USD.

Related is an internet question. I would like access from the new computer whether I'm home or away. I know a little about wi-fi but I think this depends on nearby signal. Since my job and home are 70 miles apart, and the job is in a rural area, wi-fi is unlikely. So can you get internet piped into a portable computer in an out of the way location? How much does this service cost, and who provides such a service? I guess it would be comparable to "roaming" on a cell phone.

I'm looking to get a new Dell laptop computer. I have right now a Dell desktop and I love it but I need a laptop. I mostly want it to download music, copy music and watch movies, browse the internet anywhere, take it with me on vacations, pretty much for entertainment. I have a Dell Latitude CPI R-series notebook with a bad hard drive. I'd like to replace it with a bigger drive, but dont know what to order that will fit.

The old hard drive is an IBM 10.5 GB, and says ATA/IDE on it. It has the part numbers 25L2735, and DCXA-10000 on it. The connector on the end is 1.25" in size.

I have a credit with CDWG that I would like to use to order this part, but they list many kind of hard drives, and I dont know which kind will fit in my laptop.
