Try increasing your system memory (RAM) this can actually be an important varible in internet quickness.

Try removing programs that are slowing your system down:
control panel > add/remove programs

Try eliminating some startup items you don't need using
Start > Run.. > msconfig
Goto the startup tab and uncheck the startup items you don't use or need

Try defragmenting your hard drive.
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter

What you needd to do is check to make sure taht no other programs are accessing the net this is one reason but another reason is that you have a dirty stinkin virus which some spyware programs don't pick up on virus's. Run a virus scan, maybe even uninstall web browser and re install. there is an endlss amount of reasons
