My 1yr old lab has bitten the wire of my mains cable for my advent laptop. Does anyone know where i can buy another in the Lanarkshire area or on the net?

A screw terminal block and some insulating tape will sort it. A large ASDA or B&Q will have the complete lead (assuming it's a standard 13A to "figure of eight" (two pin socket to the power brick) cable). Either solution should cost less than £3. Maplin is a good bet too.

This link is on the Advent website:

So you could try there. Is there anything preventing you from simply splicing the wires together and taping them up with electrical tape? It may be a cheaper option. They say not to do it, but I've had no problems with the times I've done it. You just have to be very careful.

Hope this helps!

Take your laptop to Circuit City or Best Buy. They can give you an off brand chord for 50ish bucks.
