I asked my girlfriend's brother how to get my pc's motherboard after trying to install it in a new case. He suggested that I lay it on a carpeted floor and just connect the monitor, power supply unit, and try "jumpstarting" the motherboard by running a screwdriver across the jumper pins for the power switch to the motherboard. He said if that didn't work, I should just try plugging in the jumper cable for the power switch in various positions on the jumper pins until I get it to work.

I have a back-up external hard drive with a few private pictures of my honeymoon (nothing too bad, but private). I let a friend stay at our place while we were away and she had a few friends over (we said that it was OK). Now I noticed the hard drive was noticeably out of place. Any way to tell if the pics were viewed, copied or emailed while we were away?

Having trouble using my universal drive adapter to connect Hard Drive?

The Drive does not show up on My Computer...it only comes up as a USB Mass Storage Device. In the bottom right task bar.

Please Help me get this to work somebody...My internal drive is running low on space....

Newertech usb 2.0 universal drive adapter.

I don't get it. My cd says 700MB capacity (which usually means about 640MB available) and 80 minutes. I made a music CD with a combined file size of 718MB but it let me create it because it said the total minutes was less than 80 minutes.

How does this work?

I am changing out my motherboard, but will keep my hardrives and everything. Will everything just boot up into my original windows XP? or is it erased? my computer is an e-machines and only has the recovery CD and not full version of windows. Will i have to have a new OS.

To learn C++? I've been reading C++ For Dummies but for someone with a slight learning disability (I had brain surgery some time ago and it seemingly hurt my learning ability) it doesn't sound like the book will be of much help learning it. I know it's a hard thing to learn, but what else can I do to learn it besides this Dummies book? What other books are good? Don't mention school, I have too much debt to try to work off before I can think about attending classes.

i have had to reinstall my Win XP. due to a virus.I have got sound & my mic IS plugged into the right socket. Also, the mic is not muted.Yet it doesnt work although it did work for a while. Can anyone help please?

The computer is 100 mhz, 128 mb ram, a cdrom drive 4X, and no USB connections. The motherboard is not upgradeable past 150 mhz. It still functions, and the monitor works very well. Does anyone have suggestions for other uses? I hate to just have it sit around the house, especially since I paid $2500.00 for it in 1996. I have a new computer now.

my com have been run normally but once i started some game like warcraft or counter strike.. d game screen juz can't function normally..

p/s: i am still able to run d game but juz unable to play as d game screen having certain problem..
