I have a back-up external hard drive with a few private pictures of my honeymoon (nothing too bad, but private). I let a friend stay at our place while we were away and she had a few friends over (we said that it was OK). Now I noticed the hard drive was noticeably out of place. Any way to tell if the pics were viewed, copied or emailed while we were away?

Generally, if you right click on the files that you are curious about, it will tell you when it was last accessed.

Of course, this will only work if they were the last one to access it and you knew for sure that you hadn't accessed those files during that time.

You knew someone else was going to be in your house and you gave permission for her to invite friends over and yet you left confidential items in full view? I'm glad you're not my spouse -because that's just plain foolish. BTW if your hard drive was 'noticeably out of place' I think you have your answer.

the file access time may be your only option although that is usually not much help. you could check your sent items, if they emailed your personal files you never know, they may have used your personal e-mail to do it.
