One megabyte = 1024^2 bytes or 1,048,576 bytes
1000 megabytes = 1,048,576,000 bytes
One gigabyte = 1024 ^3 = 1,073,741,824 bytes
Divide 1,048,576 / 1,073,741,824
So 0.9765625 gigabytes.
(There is some ambiguity among most people, stems from 1000 vs 1024 as the definition of kilobyte. The differences get more pronounced as numbers & multiples get bigger.)

As I understand it, 1000 Bytes = 1K and
1000K = 1M and
1000M = 1G
But computers work in base 2, not in base 10
so even though 1000 bytes should be 1K, the computer finds it easier to work with 1024 bytes. (This is 2^10)
So, does that mean that 1Gig is actually 1024 x 1024 bytes? I really don't know that. I can see how the computer might prefer to work with these numbers, but it appears to me that 1Gig should be 1000M. There's just always going to be some difference in theory and in practice.

As per a storage measurement for a device like a hard drive it is commonly accepted as 1GB.
As data interpreted by a Windows system it is just short of the 1024MB needed to be a full GB.
These are the two standards for measuring 1 GB ;
Either 1000MB or 1024MB ... it depends in which context.
Nothing is nicer than truth.

1024 byte is 1 Kb
1024 Kb is 1Mb
1024 Mb is 1Gb
1024 Gb is 1Terabyte.
so give and take 1000Mbyte is 1 Gbyte.
