Thanks for all the answers. My creative speakers are working fine with my Compaq Laptop coz I just plugged them there but not on my DELL PC. Maybe I need to download dell drivers?

I just checked and my sound properties says: RealTek AC97 Audio?! Does that mean it's not dell and I have to download drivers from Realtek or something?

Yes. You need to download and install sound drivers from creative.

Go to their website: creativelabs.com and find your model.

The sound is created by the computer and amplified by the speakers, so you don't need drivers from Creative. You need to make sure your computer's sound is working. If not look for drivers for your computer at the Dell site. Your MP3 player will not likely play through your computer speakers unless you attach the speakers to the MP3 player's headphone output.

Because you have a PC(PCs don't come with a lot of drivers unlike Macs) you may need to download drivers. Go to Dell's or Creative's web site and see if you can find drivers there. If you cant just googel it. (IE:Creative speaker drivers for PC)

go to start and then control panel. click on sound devices. check to see if the device volume is muted. if it is uncheck the mute check box and turn the sound up using the slider bar on that screen. Speakers do NOT need drivers. they plug in just like headphones. Make sure you are plugging them into the proper jack. On a dell it is the Green audio jack. The pink is for a mic and black is AUX.

Everyone here is telling you to get or not to get drivers but no one is suggesting to see if you have your speakers wired/connected to your PC properly. So make sure that you have your speakers connected to the correct jack/hole in the back of your PC.

Good luck
