i'm going to put some more RAM in my dad's PC coz he's just discovered the internet (yeh well he's old!). He's got one stick of 128MB, PC133 SDRAM already, i was going to put a 512MB stick in aswell coz they're pretty cheap now. I'll get the same speed but will it be ok having two different sizes and manufacturers or will it be a bit unstable? its my first pc upgrade so any other tips welcome.

ps i know about ESD precautions

Anyone know of a good but not to pricey TV card for the computer? Mainly looking to do some recording here and there of TV shows that I can later burn on to disc...like a Tivo type of thing.

I have a Promark ruggedized laptop running Win98SE with 64M ram. I need this configuration for certain hardware/software apps that I'm using in extreme/marine locations so I can't change the OS or hardware. But now I need USB capabilities. Is there some adapter I can get that plugs into serial/parallel ports. Send link if you know of one. Thanks a bunch!

I have a Dell Dimension B110 with:
2.53GHz Intel Celeron D
1GB of RAM
160GB HD (not like that makes a difference)
GeForce 6200 128MB Video Card
Cable connection (if internet is needed...?)
XP Home Edition w/ SP2

I was basically wondering all the things I would require to watch TV on my computer. Don't just say a random link, or tell me "newegg.com". yeah i know newegg is a great web site, but I want a direct link to the product. How to set up every thing would be nice too. : ) And I'll actually give you 10 points for a good answer, opposed to other people who don't care.

I have 256 mb of RAM on my computer. I just bought another 256 mb of RAM. My computer has 4 slots, but the slots are not in order. They go from left to right Slot 1, Slot 3, Slot 2, Slot 4. Do I add this new RAM to slot 3 since it is next to slot 1 where my other 256 mb of RAM is, or do I put it in slot 2, even though it skips one.. I heard if you buy a new RAM you arent supposed to pair them? Please help where do I put this new RAM????

I have 256 mb of RAM on my computer and I just purchased another 256 to give me 512 mb in total. But if I add this new one, not knowing if they are the exact same model as the other 256 mb one, will my computer run properly even though they are the same amount of memory, different types (DDR2 RAM) but they are not the same as the type that came with my computer. Please answer me????

I recently bought a GeForce 6200 video card. I installed the originial drivers which worked, but I decided to get the new drivers because they came out just a month ago. I followed the instructions given, which was to uninstall the old drivers, then install the new ones. When I installed the new ones, the screen went black and a white cursor started to blink, like you're in the command prompt. After a few re-installations, I decided just to use system restore to get back my settings from yesterday. Any one know of a way to get the new drivers up and running?

Im buying a dell (http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&oc=DXPS400F1E&s=dhs) and it comes with a video card ATI Radeon X300 SE HyperMemory 128mb, i was wondering if there is any noticeable difference if i only use this to watch movies. Because Right now my computer is running a Radeon 9200SE 128mb and i cant see any difference compared to anyone else. even a 300$ video card. Is it just me? does this really affect movie watching?. And the same about Audio cards. I have a Sound blaster 5.1 and dont know if its worth upgrading to a THX sound card. would there be noticable difference?
