Add-ons - July 2006

I have been looking on ebay for about 3 weeks now on prices for gaming cases for a computer. I have a computer I am currently using but the outer shell needs updated if you get what im saying.. I only want to spend a max of $30 but all the $20.00 cases are either crappy or the shipping is what kills me. Anyone know a website that I can get a nice gaming computer shell for a good price that is a trusted company?

My cd rom suddenly stopped working while burning a disc. Troubleshooting got me no where and I was wondering if there is a way to tell if it is really my cd rom or if it is something with the computer itself. I am running windows xp home ed. on a PC.

I've attached a 5.1 setup to my sound card and am not getting any sounds from my rear and center speakers. if I plug the rear speakers jack into the [front speakers] audio input on the sound card, then I will hear something (so I know that the speakers are all working fine)

Ok I took memory from a computer at work that was not geting used anymore it was a 256mb so I added to my puter and I wanted to know if thats too much ram and is it ok to add a used memory stick to my puter????

I have a Maxtor 250 GB HD with a corrupt operating system (cannot even load safe mode). I'm going to do a factory restore but need to transfer some critical files first. I can't daisy-chain it with my other PC in the house as it does not have the same type of internal HD cable (the Maxtor uses a small flat red cable that plugs into a small "L" shape on the board, my other computer's HD uses the much wider ribbon style connection. Is there an adapter I can get to plug the Maxtor into a USB port on my other PC?

now that i have installed a regular dvd player on my pc how do i set it up so that i can use it so i dont have to keep putting things on my hard drive, i want it so i can copy from it to my dvd burnner without downloading them to my hard drive how do i set the dvd's up or which is the master and slave drive, is the regular dvd player going to be the master or the slave drive and and it is on the bottom and how do i name them so that each will have a drive letter the dvd burnner that came with the pc was drive (E) . i hope that i have explained enough here so that someone will understand what i am tring to do, and will i have to have a program for the new dvd player it is used and i didnt get anything with it but the drive itself

I had microsoft WORD, and now when i upgraded some things, via microsoft.com, all i get it Microsoft Viewer.

This does NOT allow me to make editing changes, so I cannot make any corrections.

Why did this happen??

My motherboard manual says I can put a 1.5V AGP card into it but not a 3.3V card. Please just tell me if I can put the ASUS N6800 video card into it? Item description:
