How do I change the format from itunes to windows media player?

Question

I bought a new MP3 player and all my music is in itunes format. How do I change the format from itunes to play on my new MP3 player?

So I did that and now it shows windows media player icon. But when I double click to play it pops up w/ windows media player and gives me an error box which reads "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." ARGH!! technology kicks my butt!!

highlight a mp3 file, right click on properties then change where it sayd open with to you desired media player.
