I guess the sites enlisted below by other fellows wont work everytime..and its true..it seldom works even a few times...
What u do is send sms via rediff bol or yahoo messneger..those are sure shot..if they are unable to send then they shall say that the no. u r tryin is not ready to recieve such msgs..Use yahoo messenger 8 for that its best ..even rediff bol is equally good though
PS:only thing is that u cant send more than 3 sms to a single person in a day..but i guess thats fair enough!!
