I have a Dell Dimension B110 with:
2.53GHz Intel Celeron D
1GB of RAM
160GB HD (not like that makes a difference)
GeForce 6200 128MB Video Card
Cable connection (if internet is needed...?)
XP Home Edition w/ SP2

I was basically wondering all the things I would require to watch TV on my computer. Don't just say a random link, or tell me "newegg.com". yeah i know newegg is a great web site, but I want a direct link to the product. How to set up every thing would be nice too. : ) And I'll actually give you 10 points for a good answer, opposed to other people who don't care.

You need to purchase a TV Tuner Card (Internal) or USB TV Tuner Box (External) to watch TV on your computer, check with your computer hardware vendor if internal Card is supported by your system or purchase a external one.

Although your product comes with an instruction manual, anways i will try to explain the installation process in my own way.

::--- Setup Instructions ---::

1) Install a TV Tuner Card (Internal) or plug the USB TV Tuner Box in your computer using the required USB port mentioned on the product. (External).

2) Connect an input feed to the TV Tuner Card or Box (USB). This can be an antenna or cable connection.

3) Set up the Audio Connection. Most (but not all) TV devices require a cable directly linking the TV device and the sound card. If your device requires such a link, connect the cable. This is usually done through the sound card's Line-In connection or internal Auxiliary connection.

4) Install drivers for the TV Tuner Card. Refer to instructions that come with your TV Tuner Card. You may also want to install the video application that comes with your TV Tuner Card and test to make sure it works.

5) After you have installed the drivers and video application, you need to set some video settings in the video player depending upon your country like NTSC or PAL and some region informations.

6) Restart your video player, now you can set your channels and conduct other operations which is given in your product manual.

7) Congratulations, you have successfully installed & configured a TV Tuner Card on your computer system.

Enjoy...

You can order a box that plugs into your USB port on your computer and you just plug the cable directly into the box. This is much easier to install than a TV card, since it doesn't require taking apart your computer and installing a card. The box also comes with its own remote and is significantly cheaper than a card. There is a sight link below. Hope this helps.

All you need is a card with a cable outlet.. takes like 10 minutes to set up.

Windows Media Center is garbage, it is too unstable.. if you want a Media Center your best bet is to buy and hack an XBOX.

Just plug the card in, run through the install, connect your cable line, and you are good to do..

Keep in mind, however.. you will not get the pay channels without the set top box.
