pc is running very slow

I just got a used CDRW and it didn't come with any cables or software. It's in my computer and working, but when I put in a blank CD and try to burn a CD, it says insert a blank CD. It can read a regular CD perfectly though. Does it need a driver or did I do something wrong?

on my computer, my sound stopped working and i can't figure it out.
everything is plugged in, even on m computer it says the sound is on all the way.

I'm looking to put together a new PC, and I decided to go with a PNY 8800 GTS video card. However, I've heard that its large size is just too big for some cases.
Does anyone know if this video card will fit in a Lian-Li PC-6X series case?

I've tried to get rid of the streaks by cleaning the printer, cleaning the heads, aligning it (though I'm not sure if that matters...or if just one of those "tests" is throwing the whole thing off), and the ink is brand new. Anyone have any ideas?

This computer came with 128MB of RDRAM, which is far more expensive than SDRAM.

Is there a way to use another type of ram with this motherboard?

The other ram that I have does not fit in the computer.

Hello, atm I'm using an Asus P5GD1 Pro, which is a really old mobo holding an old prescott P4. This thing is like 2 years old, back when duo cores wasn't mainstream (or didn't exist). I noticed that all the new Intel stuff still use the exact same socket, so its probably possible to shove a duo core in my mobo. But would it work? And if so is it worth it?

I want to sell my desktop computer. Problem is it completely stopped working,and the price to fix it would cost about as much as a new one but other wise it is in good shape as far as appearance. So question is anyone know of anyplace that would by a computer that's not working? Obviously I know I wouldn't probably get very much for it. Also what should I do about my hard drive with all my personal info on it?

I just bought a new dell desktop tower. It did not come with a monitor and I was wondering if I can use my tv (HDTV 720i, it has VGA, HDMI, and S video connections) ? Is there any difference in the quality if I were to use the VGA instead of HDMI or S video since they are already being used?

I have a sony vaio model PCG-V505BX laptop.
I tried to use a dell computer CD on it.
yea it doesn't work.
haha but now when i turn on the laptop it says ... Operating System not found.

But i can't find any CDs for the PCG-V505BX model but i can for other sony vaio laptops at restoredisks.com

so.. if i would buy a cd for a sony vaio pcg-v505gx... what would happen?

would it fix the operating system not found?

I am not worried about getting the right drivers for the computer yet. like for the touchpad and all that. I just want the computer to work :P

Hi, i was trying to reformat my Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop and reinstalling Wins XP home. When the screen show reformating till about 65%, it stopped and show me a message "partmgr.sys" error and asked me to restart. I restarted the laptop again with the xp cd in it but it could not boot from cd! Now i am caught in the middle without OS and i really dont know what to do. Please help!
