Yes, the RAM is a bit low though, the laptop will run Microsoft Vista Home Basic, but not any of the other versions of Vista.

If you would like another version, you must add more RAM, your processor and Cache are perfectly ok.

Enjoy your evening!

This one is easy: go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/upgradeadvisor.mspx (Vista Upgrade Advisor).
It will tell you whether or not your system (any system) is compatible.
Now, from my experience, I would say "No" until you at least bump up (max-out) the RAM. You'll need at least 1GB of RAM but I recommend 1.5 to 2.0 for a base Vista install. You might not have a sufficiently power video chip on the motherboard. If this is the case I doubt if you'll be happy with Vista.

Vista is rubbish. It is not complete, too many bugs and it wouldn't work on your machine. I would upgrade your ram to at least 1GB, though that is scraping it, and then wait until Service Pack 1 comes out.

I would recommend you try Ubuntu Linux (www.ubuntu.com) as it would work really fast on your machine, plus you get 3D effects that make Vista's look like Windows 3.1.

Anyway, if you don't want to give Ubuntu a try, stay with XP. There are quite a few ways to make XP act like Vista. Google "vista on xp".

You will choke that celery running with only 512 of RAM.
Keep XP - you do not want Vista!

you can run it, but it is going to be extremely slow. I would recommend that you upgrade your ram to atleast 1 gig before doing the upgrade.

Yes, but do you really want to ?

End result for your specs :
Slow, slow, and very slow and you gain nothing much at all.

No, this does not meet the minimum requirements.
