I just got my computer back from the repair shop, x-mas hijinks by family and now everything is huge. The windows and text seem bigger, the task bars are giant and even the pages i load inside of firefox are too big to fit in one window. I have windows xp home.

Anyone know how to fix this?

The problem is that I downloaded limewire to listen to music, I then transferred the music to media player so I can listen to my music. But both the limewire and the media player skips when I play my music. I have a friend using the same programs on her laptop and often listens to music, but hers does not skip! What can I do to keep it from skipping. I don't run a lot of programs at once, so that is not the problem at all. Can someone help me so that I can listen to my music? Thanks!

Hi,
I'm thinking of saving a lot of my old (analogue NTSC etc...) home movies/videos to DVD or VCD for longer life. I notice that there are a lot of ways to do this now. I can play them thru my TV and record them onto my DVD recorder (DVR) or I can buy USB 2.0 devices that will save any video source direct to DVD etc...
However, I would like to be able to send copies of the DVD's/VCD's to my family in the UK to view them over there (I am in the USA). How can I know whether the format will be viewable by them on their DVD player?
I know there are regional stamps on DVD Movies you purchase so that they cannot be viewed around the world but will DVD's I make contain a stamp also? How can I set them up with no stamp so that my family can view them?

My issue is:
when i secured my wireless network (through the linksys easy link advisor) i cannot connect to the network through my other wireless computers. However, if i goto the linksys router information website (192.168.1.1) and unsecure the network, i cannot connect. The message i receive is either "limited or no connectivity" or "Can connect to the router, but no internet connection avalible". Since i can connect while it is unsecure, the issue does not have to do with the internet provider. I have entered the web key exactly as written and re-entered it.. over.. and over...i have used various programs such as, linksys easy link advisor (given with the router) an online connection program given from the linksys site, and i have even tried connecting through the windows system (finding a network then entering the key) i can sometimes get connectivity if i power juggle the router and the road runner modem, but that is time consuming and very agrvating. Anyone have a solution?

I got a new computer for Xmas, and it's great, but after awhile the right-click on the mouse won't work. It works for awhile, then it quits and I have to restart the computer to get it to work.

I also noticed that this happened frequently with my mom's old laptop.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi, just got a LCD 17'' widescreen monitor

I love it! One of the best things I ever got.

I set the resolution to 1440 x 900 for best resolution (or what I'v been told.)
I have a game that cannot run1440x900 resolution so its either really small and does not fill up my screen or
its really large and fills up my screen (if I change it to 1024 x 768)

Is it ok if I keep changing the resolution or is completly harmless?

woman contacts me on myspace.
seems legit. doesnt have a link for me to follow, or ask for any personal info.
we exchange emails. she claims to own firearms, my page says i own firearms. she doesnt understand what i am saying about my firearms and when i asked what she owns, she changes the subject.

is there anything a scammer could gain by getting me to keep sending her emails? i thought as long as i didnt follow a link in the email or give any personal info, i was safe. am i correct ? is it safe to just email her ?

I installed my new sims games on the computer and right after i installed dthem i played for like 45 minutes and then saved and quit. Every time i put in the disk and double-click on the link, a screen comes up (for the sims) and i press play. I then get a window that pops up and says that there is no disk found in the drive. I did this multiple times and it stills says that there is no disk in the drive. Is this a problem with the disk or my computer? Either one can you please explain what I should do to fix this?! Please!!! I really want to play it!!!! Thank you so much for whoever answers it!!!! =]
Once you install the game you need to still keep the disk and use that also. I don't know why but that is what it says. I am using the right disk because it is an expansion disk and there is only one. I can't find the problem! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Wow, I feel like an IDIOT for asking now, but (and don't push it, I know a 13 year-old should know how to run a computer... heh heh) how can I possibly restart my computer? Like, the ctrl-alt-delete command isn't working and I have no way of accessing the start menu. I know not to unplug the computer (that would be a dumb move) so do I just restart it by hitting the off-button. I don't wanna completely wreck it. My dad always restarts it this way, but I think it's really harmful to the computer. Is it?

i am going to get a mac here really soon, but i am worried that since everything in the world today is geared towards pc, i wont have as many options open for software, etc. like i want to buy flight simulator x deluxe, but will that run on a mac? is there even a mac version? what about some of the games i have now for a pc? since leopard can run windows, will they run on my new mac? can i just install them like normal? will they work like normal? so basically, what are my options when it ocmes to buying software? is there less options? or about the same? and my current pc software, can i install it on my mac? wanna donate towards my getting a new macbook? lol thanks for your answers.

Ok, so I found this website called veoh.com where you can watch free videos. The only problem is you have to download it and I need to know if it's safe for you computer. Like, it won't send a virus into it or make it SUPER slow. Because I have already made that mistake with another website similar.
