Yes, it's true.
Well, almost.
There are virtually no viruses for Mac as of today. The reason is that Macs are not as widespread as Windows machines and virus creators just haven't had enough motivation so far to write viruses for Macs. It's more difficult too, because Mac OS is based on Unix and therefore is less vulnerable to security threats compared to Windows.
Not that Macs are 100% secure, though. There are viruses and trojans for Macs and there likely will more of them.

No, that is not genuine. the only computing device this is thoroughly risk-free from a deadly disease is one which would not hook up with the internet, would not have a floppy stress and would not upload archives by a USB port from yet another computing device. So each computing device is vunerable. Why not the MAC's lots as a consequence a approaches is as a results of the fact living house windows based computers have ninety 3% of the deepest computing device industry share. MAC's have 6% sunlight a million% - in basic terms who're the hackers going to pass after? additionally, living house windows OS's, Outlook, IE, and be conscious have extreme safety flaws that are a hackers delight. MAC OS's are based greater robustly as an entire and now interlaced with a solid Unix-based center OS. yet, this would not recommend which you ought to not be as careful as a WinXP person while it is composed of safety for the MAC. Now the greater cutting-edge MAC OSX DOES DO living house windows, wager what's going to take place - we could desire to be much greater conscious of the thank you to wrestle viruses! I relatively have a house community setup with 3 MAC's & 2 laptop's and that i've got not in any respect had one helpful attack on it nonetheless they're related to the internet 24/7/365. Many have been detected, none have have been given by using. "as quickly as you pass MAC, you will not in any respect pass BAC" -- woman in pink

Macs can get virus's. It just that Macs are not as popular (some 2% of all computers that connect to the internet are Macs) as Windows, there for the hackers are more out to get Windows. If Mac was more popular, than they would be finding alot of holes in the Mac OS's to exploit. There are viruses out there for Macs, they are just few. Mac also "plugs the hole" as soon as the virus is discovered since they only have one or two to deal with a month compared to the hundered or thousands Microsoft has to deal with a month.

No- it is not true that a Mac won't get a virus. It is less likely for a Mac to get a virus because most viruses are made to run in the Windows environment.

Nothing is impossible. And one day, one may appear for OS X.
But, it is true that there are no known virii in the wild for OS X at the moment. And also, not for the reasons given here. OS X is based on FreeBSD a Unix distro and like it's cousins, the Linuxes, the OS is built from the ground up to be way more secure than Windows.
Contrary to popular opinion, It has nothing to do with Windows market share, It's all about how hard the *NIX's are to hack compared to Windows.

No everything is possible. Mac's are just A LOT less likely to get one, and a Mac with a virus is VERY VERY VERY rare. Everything, including virus's are geared towards PC, since there are so many PC's. Mac just doesnt have enough comuters to out there to warrent making a virus for them.

i doubt its true, because it really depends on your antivirus program.....u get a virus when u download something and instead of some program or song even, when u open it, its a virus...if u have a good antivirus, it should be able to find it immediately, but whether Mac or Windows it doesn't matter...getting a virus does not concern the type of software, it concerns the antivirus program.
i hope that helps:):)
