The problem is that I downloaded limewire to listen to music, I then transferred the music to media player so I can listen to my music. But both the limewire and the media player skips when I play my music. I have a friend using the same programs on her laptop and often listens to music, but hers does not skip! What can I do to keep it from skipping. I don't run a lot of programs at once, so that is not the problem at all. Can someone help me so that I can listen to my music? Thanks!

If you play the files in a different player, like "VLC" or "Winamp" do they run OK ?
Or if you transfer the file to an MP3 player is it OK, if so the system simply doesn't have enough OOMPH to run all the things it's doing, including any anti virus eyc etc etc etc

it could be your ram, how much memory does your laptop have? one way to check how much ram you have is to right click on the computer icon and choose properties then it should say it under the general tab. or it could be the music, did you download it, or get it from a cd? because it might have gotten messed up if it downloaded wrong or the cd might have been scratched
