After upgrading my EVGA GeForce 8800GTS with the latest drivers from Nvidia I had to reboot my machine. When I did it took the BIOS about 2 mins to load and run. Once it did boot, everything came up fine. I noticed that at the very beginning of the BIOS screen, it did mention something about a memory test passed. I have 2GB of 800 mhz memory so I can imagine any memory test would take a bit of time. My concern is that I have had this machine for months and I have never had the BIOS take so long nor run any memory test. Is there a setting in the BIOS that I didn't see that controls this test? I think there is but I can't seem to find it. Also, does anyone know of a problem with the latest Nvidia drivers for the 8800 card?

Please only people with some technical knowledge answer this question. I have 20 years of computer experience and I know I must just be missing something here. Old age kicking in.

My speakers are Monsoon (2) with a subwoofer. They've always worked well. Now the subwoofer suddenly started making a loud windy noise all the time. At first I thought it was an airplane flying over. Even with the bass turned all the way down, the noise is there. The sound has never been turned up very far, so it's not been "blown." Is there a way to fix this or do I have to buy a new set of speakers? These are about 2 years old.

Can people intercept your files, steal your computer's identity from the air, or even piggy-back on your signal to do unscrupulous things?

Okay.
Me, on this computer I am hooked to the end of a cable serving DHCP. I have an internal non-routable ip address of 192.168.1.whatever. In turn that is translated to a static public IP-address served to us by a local company who in turn gets their IPs and bandwidth from At+t. That's as far as I can figure it.
I would like to know who or what lies at the root of the IP tree. What system or organization makes sure that the four and a quarter billion available addresses don't collide?

I'm supposed to program it in a way that it lists out all the 3-word phrases found in a document.
Example in a passage:
(Mary had a little lamb, and the lamb was white as snow)
So it will give me these results in EXCEL in a list:
Mary had a
had a little
a little lamb
lamb,and
.
.
Now the problem is, "lamb, and" must be removed cause it contains punctuations.
How do I delete those cells that has punctuation marks?
I cannot delete the entire row.
I must delete only that particular cell.
--------------------------------------------

Anybody knows the code for this?
If yes, please help.
Really urgent cause the project is due soon.

thanks!!

I have an XP computer and I just bought a computer with Vista preinstalled. The printer is connected to the XP computer so there's no way out of getting out of connecting to it.
I installed on the vista the LLTD protocol and made sure that the file and printer sharing was on the exclusion list in the Windows Firewall.
Neither the "View Full Map" in the Network and Sharing Center nor the "Network" show my XP computer. I have tried every single thing I know or found from the internet but.. NOTHING.
I really need your help, please.

I am very worried. I work in a small office with about 10 other people. Myself and few others have Windows XP and the rest of the staff have Windows 2000. XP offers regular updates. Recently XP offered me updates and I said yes. Since then the Windows 2000 users computers have stopped working properly. We are all linked to one server but surely the update would only affect my PC wouldn't it? They were processing orders through a program called Crystal Reports. They can still process the orders but now cannot print them, although they can still print emails etc. I need to know 1. Can accepting updates affect other PC'S? 2. If it has can it be fixed? 3. If I was to remove recent updates would things improve? 4. How do I remove updates? and 5. Will anyone know it was me?
I really didn't mean to do any harm. I thought accepting the updates was the correct thing to do.
