Proactive my friend.
It's a lot easier to prevent something than to try to come up with a fix sometimes.

But... I *do* keep Superantispyware and A-Squared Free on board just in case...

My Microsoft updates are up to date.
My Avast is up to date.
My Ad-Aware is up to date and I will run it when I get off the internet today.
SpywareBlaster was updated yesterday.
SuperAntiSpyware was updated and run this morning.
I ran disk cleanup yesterday.
I defragged yesterday.

Is that proactive enough? I have no interest in waiting to see if something "might" happen, I keep my computer as clean running as I possibly can. I will help others, but I am continually amazed and shocked at the number of people who have NO protection on their computer. They, of course, are the ones who scream loudest, "HELP ME!!! I HAVE A VIRUS" as though they personally had one.

Always proactive. This also gives you the incentive to try new software from time to time and see if the security suite that YOU built can be improved on. New software is like having Christmas several times a year.

Sadly, I think I am clueless.
I want to knowingly be pro-active but I haven't achieved that level of execution yet. I am working on it and may have to call in assistance.
Seriously, I probably should be prohibited from operating this piece of machinery until I can understand some of the lingo better.... or not.
