So my friend has a computer that got so unbelievably bogged down with spyware and viruses we decided to reinstall windows XP. Its a relatively new (about 1 year old) HP Pavilion pc, everything went fine, installed windows XP, and SP2.

For some reason the usb ports no longer work, they all worked perfectly fine before reinstalling windows. And in the device manager it says that they are all working correctly, However they simply are not. I plug something in, and it does not recognize that anything is plugged in.

How can I fix this?

PS: For some reason, even before I'd have anything plugged in, it would show that I have "Usb mass storage drives F: G: H: I:", which is weird because we didn't have any usb drive plugged in, only a printer.

I own the Adobe Photoshop 7 program. I used it with my older computer with windows xp.
Recently I baught a high end media pc with windows vista.
First thing I did was to install my Adobe photoshop 7 and also my LiveMotion 2.0. Well there is a conflict with windows vista and I ended up loosing all my disk rom drivers. Had to take it back to factory settings and everything was fine.
I want to load my photoshop 7 and haven't found any info to convince me to load it up safely without loosing my rom drives again! I'm thinking that the "LiveMotion" may have been the problem and I don't care to install that now. I just want my photoshop back! Any suggestions?

Every time I delete them they come back in time. I fully deleted Limewire because... It would keep popping up after I shut it down. I believe that is a virus. As well as the one that puts alot of programs in my shared folders. The programs are things like Microsoft, X360 and MANY more. They come in the hundreds if not thousands. I tried deleting it and all other viruses but it still comes back. So now I completely deleted limewire from my computer and there are still pop ups that say it can not start up Limwire and blah blah. So I deleted Java from my computer. I want Limewire back, so badly. And I think I need Java. I tried restoring my computer but since the virus is a file it doesn't go away. HELP HELP HELP

Recently some load spikes from site like Digg have caused me to have to 'mirror' my site to cached versions. Now, however, Google keeps indexing those temporary versions over my original articles. I need to know how to let Google know about the problem and that they should index the original content, not the temporary mirrors.

i cleaned the screen with windex.wiped down the top of the laptop.nothing dripped and the thing was turned off when i did this.

i started it up and im getting beeps/keyboard issues.i did the same with my other laptop loads of times but nothing has ever happened.the laptop that is having issues is older..

anyhow, the touchpad is acting extra sensitive, i get beeps at start up and the keyboard pressing buttons i didnt..did i destroy this thing for good? i searched on google and didnt read much about beeps due to liquids..

id like to burn this movie, it has audio_ts and video_ts files and all the menu's and stuff but i dont know how to arrange it so i can just press play from the menu and it starts, right now all it does is play the menu for 2 seconds and move on. I'm also using Nero vision too.

when booting up, inside the Sata RAID BIOS show this "The number of disks is not adequate to create a RAID!!!" now i using a IDE hard drive and i just wan to add on a SATA hardrive, but it fail to perform and got me the error as above mention. Inside the BIOS there is no SATA device found too. Even i took out my IDE hard drive, and only let the SATA harddisk run alone, it also happen to be the same. My BIOS don't have option to disabled the RAID function too.

I took hundreds of photographs and videos of the ducks at the pond and beautiful scenery and my best male friend the last time he could come over and some funny stuff. The other day, I saw a long-lost buddy I haven’t seen it years and we were taking memory shots, but she accidentally clicked ‘OK’ thinking it was the button at the top to take a picture, and wiped out all the previous photos/formatted the whole memory card.
Is there a good computer trick or virus-free no-charge downloaded programme that is successful? I really want to get them back!

Hi to all. When I go to control pame, display property, settings, screen area and try to drag the slider to the right to change 640 x 480 16 colors to the recommended size it doens't slide/move at all. When I log on the internet it looks fussy and blurry images. P.S. I added a windows 98 driver to a windows 2000. everything work except this little problem. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

My boyfriend has decided to start up his own office and so far is doing good. I'm trying to plan ahead and am looking for a program to help him (he isn't to organized) keep track of his clients. He use to work at a firm that had a very good program but I don't know what it was called. The program was hooked up on all computers (they were linked together since it was a large firm) and it had all the client's information including the other attorney's information (personal injury firm) and had a section where you could type notes which allowed everyone to write down any information while talking on the phone. Whenever someone called up wanting info they were able to type in a name and the information would pop up that they could add to it. I'm looking for something similar to this so he can easily talk with clients without having to dig through their files.
