i lost the restore disk for my dell dimension 3000. is there someplace i can get one or can i download it somewhere.

I called Dell and gave them my original order number and computer serial number. They mailed me one overnight.

Dell doesn't allow you to download them, unfortunately. You may be able to call Dell and have them ship you a replacement disk (depending on the age of your machine). You'll need to call their support line at 1-800-W W W-DELL and select the technical support option. If you no longer have warranty support on your 3000, they may still be able to help you. You may end up being shunted to the parts department to order a replacement disk. I think that the Dell parts department is only open business hours similar to 9-6.

Afraid not you will have to buy one from dell...
or you could download Ubuntu Linux for free with all the software you will ever need,
Dell are now installing Ubuntu Linux on the new systems so you will get dell support from their website, linux is faster, more secure, and leaves Vista ultimate in the shade

you shoul be able to create your own disk. try your system tools file in the start menu there a place to create a back up disk

COntact Dell directly and they will ask for your PC's serial nuimber (located on the back or side of your PC) and they will send you the disc. www.dell.com
