Im trying to get an online game known as maplestory for my little brother but everytime he downlaods and installs the program it never seems to work. i think its the system reuirments:

The game rquires:
-Windows 2000 or higher (The comp we're using is 2000, so we meet here)
-HDD 3gb or high (We have 80gb)
-We meet in sound.
-But the 2 categories I dont know about is the VGA and CPU.

So my question is how can i find what my VGA is?

Also the game requires a P3-1Ghz CPU and I think this comp has a AMD Athlon(tm) 1800+. Is that even a CPU? Im not sure because im not really good with computers. I found that under right-click computers>properties> then theres a computer section and thats where it says it. So will I be able to run Maplestory with a AMD Athlon(tm) 1800+ when it requires a
P3-1Ghz?

Sorry Ive taken so long but my bro is dieing to play this game. Please help.

I need to reinstall windows because someone did the system restore and now the computer isnt working right, but I cant find my windows disk, so how can I get it reinstalled? I was planning on selling this computer so I need it working right.

I have a HP LaserJet 1320. I'm guessing it's a complicated problem because I've already contacted HP's online tech support and they couldn't solve the issue. Where can I go to fix it and about how much would it cost? Just a range would be helpful. Would I be better off buying a new printer?

Ok so, yesterday I attempted installing xubuntu on an old comp. It booted up fine, but I was being guided with the help of a relative online the relative had to leave, and now Im left half way done. Im partitioning my 10GB maxtor HD manually and Am completely confused. He mention something about 700mb to swap and the rest for ext2 but its accesing for a mount point location begining or end and im just confused need help to get this thing running!

I'd like to use this board to build a system with but can't find out it's cpu limit. I know it's AMD but not sure if it can take XP, or Barton or others. I've tried emailing both vendors who give more questions than answers. I know this board is OLD, so I'm not looking to buy a newer one. I just think that with a more powerful processor and ram, it still has some life left. What do you think? I would love it if someone (other than an outsourced tech) could provide an answer this simple problem first before telling me to ditch it or use it for something other than what it was intended for. May be able to provide more detail.

A quick question, probably dumb but i'm skeptical as to if i can get some PC2-6400 RAM for my computer. I've got the stock, that came with my Compaq SR2038X(2 x 512MB). I want to upgrade to two sticks of 1GB for 2 gigs. Crucial says 6400 will be compatible, but the Compaq page says 4200(currently what i have) and 5300. Is there any reason to suspect the 6400 to not work w/ my mobo? Also, i think i could use the RAM i currently have, and that could up it to an overall ~3GB of RAM, although then all of the sticks will still run at the original 4200 speed. Is that better or worse than simply just using the new 5300/6400 ram for 2GB?

I did a repair of windows coz i kept freezing.. but i got this message saying "VIAAGP1.SYS on VIA AGP Filter disk is needed" but i dont where it could be. Ive looked on forums and they say its in C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers but its not :(

ALSO after i repaired windows i tried to install my video drivers for my ATI Radeon 9550 but i got this error "Setup was unable to complete the installation try to set up your display adapter witha standard VGA adapter driver before running setup" what does that mean ? does that mean i have to be in 640x800 res to install ?

could the 2 probs be connected ??

Well, I think I'm going to go with a Mac book, everyone goes on about how great they are and how many fewer problems there are.
My only hangup is that I will be using this for school and my school and most other people use mostly Windows programs (Powerpoint, word, etc)
How does these to types of computers work together? Will I be able to email an essay to my instructor who has a PC from a MAC?

i've got a dell E310 desktop with windows home, didn't come with disks. ebay has for auction reinstall disks for home that includes things like sound blaster, but i don't think my desktop has it, can you use the reinstall disk to install it to begin with or must it already be there? please help, this is my first computer, thanks
