You need the disk because AOL is a really big program. good luck. You can usually pick up a disk at an electronics store. Check around.

Depends on your Internet speed. There is a download for it, and there even claims to be a free version:

Of course, from experience, AOL is full of spam and their content is pretty much useless. It used to be perfect for beginners who would never be able to fulfully use the WWW, but is losing customers (especially to billing cancelled customers) as well as many other reasons. You can try the free version, but like everything else that is free, they'll make it worth money if (and that's a BIG if) people start using it (NetZero use to give you access to the Internet for free but quickly made it into a cost; Juno is another example).

I would avoid anything and everything AOL makes, including AIM as that has been linked to spyware.
