I use avg because I've heard good things from... computer nerds... any way
my stepdad put it on his lap top and it worked perfectly it found all the viruses and stuff so I put it on my computer but it never finds any threats or anything... and I know there HAS to be something, cuz I have limewire and that's like a big neon sign saying GIVE ME A VIRUS!
So doesn any one know why it's not catching anything on my computer

I do update it, it does it automaticaly and it scans every day too but never finds anything

I need expert website design help for lawtondrum.com. I was on here before asking a similar question and had a guy name Todd from Valley Design (http://toddlibby.net) contact me, he's a great guy and a lot of help but he left much unfinished business. I created our initial website using Frontpage (not a great program) and fixed it up to web standards using Kompozer though he used WordPress to re-create the site. Now it seems I can't publish anything using Frontpage and well he happened to haven't left any instructions on how to update the new site. I'd prefer just to go back to the previous web design I had but don't know how too. The only thing I ever really wanted was much needed help creating a new drum show page for our upcoming drum show (but I didn't know how to go about doing all that I wanted to do) and a few minor things. If anyone out there would be so kind as to help me that would be greatly appreciated...

I'm a junior and Computer Science major at Brigham Young University Idaho. I also work in the server room as an operator and assistant server.

I'm staying over the summer, as many of us do. For the break we are allowed to work full time, and have been moved over to server management for the additional 20 hours we get.

During server operations we are just monitoring servers and are free to do whatever we want with our free time. Cushy position. But for our new server management jobs we are supposed help DO things, assignments and such. I have no assignment.

Our boss has told us it is fine to clock in anyways and get hours if we work on our own to study an better ourselves about the servers, networking, etc. But I'm at a bit of a loss.

So, this question goes to those in the industry. If you had 20 hours a week you were paid to study in your field, if you were still a student, what would you study? What holds value? How would you spend your time? Thanks.

is there a command in Unix (something like ls -"X") to list the directories and all subdirectories.
While ls -d does this, i want the full roots of the folder.
I cannot find a way to do this.

my intended result would look like this...
/home/toodles/dir1
/home/toodles/dir2
/home/toodles/dir2/subdir

Currently use RackSpace, but they are very expensive. Have 2 web servers, 1 DB server and 2 application servers. Need Firewall and Load Balancer (Level 7). Our site is Akamaized if that helps.

When I create an email, in choosing whom to send to I can like hold down "a" and get a list of everyone I've communicated with whose email addy begins with "a". How do I get rid of these, I didn't add them it must do it by themselves. I'd like to get rid of the old business ones.

I need to upload a film I've made on to youtube or equivalent site in order to get a job,but the quicktime movie is too large at 1.7 GB although it meets the length criteria at 8 & 1/2 minutes. It defeats the object to chop it up so how can I reduce it ? Would changing the file format be better? Or are there sites where I could upload it as it is ?

i dont know what tcp/ip is but my bit comet is telling me when i open it: bit comet detect that your current setting of half-open tcp connection limitation is too small.

Hi, my pc has been running really slow for a long time now, so I did all the usual things like run a spyware scan, anti virus scan, i even posted a hijack this log on some forums and they all came back saying there is not malicious software on my pc, i also cleared all the cookies and temp files etc. But the pc is still running really slow, its quite an old pc, maybe 8 years old! Would that mean i need more RAM now? And if so i looked up what RAM i need, an now im totally confused! I need a PC800 or PC1066 RDRAM (NON-ECC). Can anyone please explain what the hell that means! and should i buy the PC800 OR PC1066? I already have 512MB RAM installed, so does that mean i have to get a pair, ie another 512MB RAM?

I have Windows XP! I have AVG 7.5 Antivirus Free Edition and AVG Antivirus installed. Are these good, effective, free programs, or is there something better you can recommend. I'm also not sure if any of these programs have Firewall protection or not, which I would like to have. Is Kaspersky any better? Any help would be truly appreciated. Thanks in advance! there are still some computers in the library that run on windows 98 and 2000 and i sometimes have to use them but am wary of viruses so i would like to know what's the best antivirus program i can save on a handy usb2 flash drive that i can just stick on the pc and scan the pc for viruses, clean the pc before i actually use it. so many years ago, my brother used to carry floppy disks containing mcafee antivirus programs for this purpose. please help.

When you type in a user name and password and save the user name, they are saved. However when these user names are not correct they are there. Not a big deal, just annoying. is thee anyway to clear certain user name / password combos with clearing the correct ones?

i was messing with the function keys and now this alarm goes off everytime i start it. did i enable something. a memory test or sfafety alarm it is loud beeps the laptop seems to work fine after it starts but i am also having intermiten problems with the touch pad also sometimes it will not work until after i touch some keys on the keyboard. all this was after i was messing with the function keys running vista
