I need expert website design help for lawtondrum.com. I was on here before asking a similar question and had a guy name Todd from Valley Design (http://toddlibby.net) contact me, he's a great guy and a lot of help but he left much unfinished business. I created our initial website using Frontpage (not a great program) and fixed it up to web standards using Kompozer though he used WordPress to re-create the site. Now it seems I can't publish anything using Frontpage and well he happened to haven't left any instructions on how to update the new site. I'd prefer just to go back to the previous web design I had but don't know how too. The only thing I ever really wanted was much needed help creating a new drum show page for our upcoming drum show (but I didn't know how to go about doing all that I wanted to do) and a few minor things. If anyone out there would be so kind as to help me that would be greatly appreciated...

Is the problem simply that you can't update it? Then, simply learn how to, and use, any one of, programs such as ws_ftp, Filezilla, or the Firefox add-on called FireFTP to transfer files. All use FTP. You "set up an account" to define the address and userid and password on the host, then connect, then transfer files. I have, and have used them all. All are easy, and I'm CURRENTLY using FireFTP just because it's handy and I'm lazy...

Is it, that you don't know how to BUILD web files? The BEST alternative would be to learn XHTML and CSS and write yer own, by hand...using a good website editor like WeBuilder (my favorite...paid $50 for it) but there are plenty others, many free. But, mebbe, you'd rather have, like Frontpage, a website builder.

Frontpage is no longer supported by Microsoft...Their "next generation" equivalent, as they call it, is Microsoft Expression Web.

Another alternative is the ultimate, the one the pros use, Dreamweaver! $$$!

You could go for some online website development tools. Gosh there are so many. And many are free! Even though I'm developing 95% of my pages by hand (XHTML and CSS and javascript and PHP and on and on) I've also linked to pages developed on Google blogger (www.blogger.com) and Google Page Creator (get a gmail userid at www.google.com and add Page Creator as one of your "services"...

bravenet.com has a page creator

There are many others, as I'm sure you'll see in other answers here, and you'll give them your better points. Good luck!

(BTW, on your website, for the logo, try setting it as a "background-image for a hidden link at the top of the column!)

Hi - If you have a few bucks to spend, I recommend getting hold of a program called Sitespinner. Google it and you will find their site. I have used it in www.channelhop.net to supplement my main site, which I had done by professionals and which cost me an arm and a leg! It's easy to use and has lots of features.
How do you tell a good web site?
