help! it doesent detect eachother, and i have 10 TB of memory and i want to transfer some of the stuff to my other pc

I just setup ubuntu for the first time and it is saying I don't have permission to do anything in the directory and when I go under the file browser and try to edit the permissions it says I am not the owner and so I can't change anything....what's up with that and how do I change it.

I want to buy Mac Book Pro in August. But should I wait till October for release of Leopard?
There are several concerns for whether I should wait for Leopard.
1. Is Leopard going to be preinstalled on Mac Book Pros as soon as it is released?
2. Will I get a free upgrade to Leopard if I buy a Mac Book Pro in August? Becuase if it's true, I get a copy of Tiger AND a copy of Leopard.
3. Will the new release have compatibility issue for applications that are already working with Tiger.
4. Is there any other reasons that I probably don't want to upgrade to Leopard as soon as it's released???

Had a slushie on my bed stand last night & woke with it on my laptop keyboard!

It was open because I listen tomy meditation music while sleeping. I washed it off with a damp rag& even used a spray bottle to 'wash' out the keys while it was upside down... Did a bit of praying too.

But keys are sticking and it keeps adding periods to everything.It took a lot of work to even type this.

HELP! What do I do?

well,, somebody told me about pressing alt+ctrl+del and well, theres the Task manager window,, then go to Processes and right click on a program,, and u can set the affinity to whatever core u want.... but, how do i know if one of them is not doing its job.. and the other one is?

I I have been playing the games up until now, and suddenly the error message pops up everytime I try to play a downloaded game. I have re-installed activeX and the Adobe Shockwave player several times.. I also have tried deleting and downloading the games again. I'm stumped. I've seen a few people have had the same error message but I cannot find whatever they did to fix it! Thanks in advance for your help :)

ok so I want to take a document i wrote on microsoft word and upload it onto photobucket.com so i can get a url so i can put it on myspace.

but i dont know how to change the word document into the right format to upload the picture

the format has to be gif, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, swf.

seems like the lcd panel on the macbook cannot get brighter. I don't understand. I can barely see the stuff on the screen, but its just to dark.

I've used the function keys, but it doesn't get brighter. I've ran an adapter to a crt and it works fine, just the lcd panel won't light up.

I don't understand macs. please help........................

The problem is that when i boot my pc,during startup,it shows that theres 2 operating systems,as if i have,say,win2000 and XP but they are both XP.And its not as if it was installed on a separate partition because i already went that route,no partitions.Whats more,when i boot up my machine and the screen that comes up that gives me the option to choose what OS i want to use,i have to arrow down to the version of XP that works.If not,after 30 seconds it tries to boot into the corrupt XP.I did change the countdown from 30 to 999 seconds but that doesnt help my cause much,it only buys me a little time to arrow down.So i have to sit through the whole startup procedure and basically baby sit so it boots the right way.Thats really annoying,especially for me because i do a lot of downloading and installing and what not that requires reboots.I like to be able to click restart and walk away for 10 or 15 minutes without worrying about my computer trying to boot into a nonexistant version of XP.

I am grounded from the computer... what should I do to sneak on it?
