hi i'm looking for software that will allow me to run multiple operating systems on my computer. i've tried VMware but it's not what i'm looking for.i'm looking for something that gives me choices of all the operating systems on the boot screen, and then i get to choose which one i want and then i go. but then there is an issue with partitions. cause WIndows XP uses NTFS and the other linux OS may use Fat32. i don't know. so i guess this software would also have to partition my hard drive so i could allocate memory for only specific OS. can anyone give me more info on this kind of thing? would love any advice or info. it may be more simple than what i'm making it.

I've just connected my laptop up to my tv (to use as a 2nd monitor) with this item http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=150140733003&rd=1&rd=1 and i'm getting picture and sound fine. Yet the picture is black and white. How can i get colour? I've taken a look at the settings and i cant find anything obviously wrong. Please help!

I have a Dell Optiplex GX1 548Mhz/192MB of Ram Pentium 3
I want to upgrade my Ram to 1GB or 512 MB but I'm having some trouble with what I can put in my computer. And can I use DDR as opposed to SDRAM?

I disabled the option which allows me to use both mouse and the touchpad for navigation a long time ago. There's no problem with my Synaptics touchpad driver and I can't seem to find the option under Control Panel > Mouse.

So basically the problem is I can't use the touchpad (hey..the touchpad driver was enabled and there is no hardware conflicts) and I had no intentions of using the USB mouse for long time sake... So, where is it?

"Snail-mail" as it's called is giving way to email, so who's to say that our precious books will become "e-books" or whatever. It's already being done, some text books are online now! I mean, I love holding a book and turing the pages and falling asleep with it in my arms. Will the kids who are preeteens now have thier children reading computer books?

Also, handwriting might be gone as well. We can take tests on computers and do classes on computers so it seems that it's coming. In 20 years or less e-paper will cost LESS than real paper. Yes it's saving trees, but we are becoming lazy fast and I think we need to just slow down on technology. Please post your responses and comments on this subject and I would apriciate it dearly.

I know .jpg, .JPG and JPEG (etc.) is the same. I'm wondering how i can change pictures to JPG form? im trying to upload files on http://wordpress.com but it will only allow certain types. i'm using .bmp i think but how can i change so that my pics are untitled.jpg??? is .jpg comes with the computer??? does anyone know where i can get .jpg software if not?? thanks alot

I have an Advent T9. Until yesterday when I clicked explore on the computor it listed all the drives from A to J. Today I have being trying to download some pics from my daughters phone via the smart stick. I clicked explore but now there are only four drives A,to E. Where have they gone and how do I get them back?
I have tried the system restore but it has turned off and won't turn back on - it just tells me to restart the computer which I have already done. Please help.

I have a wireless adaptor on my laptop, I've been able to connect to a free service for the last few months (linksys) but not the service is password protected. I've tried putting in generic DNS and IP addresses to see if that would allow me to connect - the connections icon lets me know that i'm connected yet when i try to load a website it tells me the server could not be found - any ideas?

I Have a wee bit of a problem with the monitor.. caused by the computer.. I actually had to turn the monitor onto its side in order to use the computer or to read anything. David was using the computer the other day and doesn’t think he pressed anything by accident but the problem has been on the monitor since. Just wondering if you may have any solutions or ideas??

By the way is it safe to have the monitor on its side? Will it overheat or anything weird like that?

I have a brand new (supposedly highly rated) Belkin wireless router. I have optimum on-line (Cablevision) cable connection. My voip phone started intermittently getting garbled and my internet connection is temporarily “hanging”. I called the cable company a few times and they told me that my cable connection shows a strong signal, but that my router is showing a weak signal. I was not sure whether I should trust them, as I do not know how they can tell that. Of course, I want the prob resolved. My older wired router never gave me any probs. Is there any way to hook up both in the same connection? I appreciate your help. Thanks.
