I have a Dell Optiplex GX1 548Mhz/192MB of Ram Pentium 3
I want to upgrade my Ram to 1GB or 512 MB but I'm having some trouble with what I can put in my computer. And can I use DDR as opposed to SDRAM?

DDR ram is not compatable with SDRAM, the modules are manufactured in such away that you can not insert it into the wrong type of slot.

With that said try Kingstons web site, they have a chart where you can enter the make and modle of your computer then find the correct memory to upgade your system.

Hope this helps.

No, DDRs are for P4 and equivelent generation AMD AXP CPUs.

Stick with the specified SDRAM types.

no, you either need sd 100 or sd 133 ram

ddr was made around the time of the second pentium 4's

the first p4's used RDRAM
ultra expensive ram

as long as you purchase a stick of RAM it quite is PC2700 DDR3 200-pin SODIMM then it is not suitable. as long because of the fact the fee fits that allowed by the motherboard then you definately're stable to bypass. =D

You need memory that fits your memory slots. Probably PC-100 or PC-133 or PC 150
