There are ways to troubleshoot anything. However we need a lot more info than the make and model number.

Are you able to ping the default gateway? If so can you ping a DNS server? If so can you do DNS resolution? These are fundamental quesitons that need to be answered first.

I would connect to the router via wired connection first. Then I would open command prompt (start, run - type in cmd and hit enter). Type in "ipconfig /all" without the quotes. If you have an IP address for your wired port, note it and the default gateway. If you also have one for your wireless report, note it.

Now enter "ping " without the quotes (never enter the quotes) where is the default gateway IP address, which is probably something like 192.168.1.1. You should receive 4 positive responses. If not, you have a router LAN config problem to fix.

Now enter "ping 4.2.2.2" and hit enter. You should have 4 positive responses; if not you have a router WAN problem to fix.

Now enter "ping yahoo.com" and hit enter. You should have 4 positive responses; if not you have a router WAN DNS problem to fix.

If all the above is OK, remove the wired connection but stay close to the router. Enter "ping " again. If you do not get 4 positive ping responses, you have a router wireless config porblem to fix and you must match that on the wireless port of the pc.

Troubleshooting contemplates that you can provide some kind of information regarding your problem.

When was it working?
When did it stop working?
What changed?
What are the symptoms now?
Are there any error messages?

Nevertheless, what you might try is powering off your computer, unplug the power from your modem and your router. Wait 30 seconds and restore power to the modem. ONce the lights stabilize, plug in the router and wait for the lights to stabilize. Then restart your computer.
