If you have the original system restore disk that came with your computer, you can run it and it will erase everything on your hard drive. If you have a Windows Operating System disk you can use that. If you have another Operating system you can use the fdisk command in DOS. If you choose to use the fdisk command I suggest searching it on a web search engine and you will find instructions on how to set up a partition.

Formatting or deleting can been retrieved. If you want to destroyed the data you need to "Wipe" the drive.

just put in an operating system disk and it will format and as soon as it is done just turn your computer off

i use it all the time when i upgrade my harddrives and sell em off

I would run fdisk first then format and reinstall.
