I have an Advent T9. Until yesterday when I clicked explore on the computor it listed all the drives from A to J. Today I have being trying to download some pics from my daughters phone via the smart stick. I clicked explore but now there are only four drives A,to E. Where have they gone and how do I get them back?
I have tried the system restore but it has turned off and won't turn back on - it just tells me to restart the computer which I have already done. Please help.

You Have a virus and that is a fact it has all ready turned off your restore which means you now have no place to restore to.
Do not open any more folders or files the more you open up the further the virus will get into your system and the harder it will be to get rid of.

Do this now.
Download and run Windows Live OneCare it's a free 90 day trial do as it dictates it will ask you to uninstall any protection you may have installed or it may do it automatically either way do as it Say's. It will take about an hour to scan and repair depending on your system.

It will not do any harm to your System it's Microsoft.
You may lose some personal information but do not save anything as it may be infected and when you reload it you will get the bug back.

The best of luck.

It is difficult to say for sure from the brief description of your problem but potentially you could have a major problem. If your drive had been partitioned into many different logical drives and now they are not there, it could mean your partition table has been corrupted. This could happen because of virus infection or simply due to some drive failure. Partition table corruption is notoriously had to rectify and often means a restore from back-ups. But if the missing drives are from pen drives, then the problem is a minor one. Try using the memory with another PC and see if it is recognised. If it is and you can access the files, then it may be that your computer is playing up.

Most likely the other drive locations were logical
drive mappings of Directories on the C: device

if the drives were physical they would still appear

you need to remap the directories as drive letters
