Hey everyone, I just bought a new HP Pavilion notebook with 1.6 ghz duo Turion 64 Processor with Windows Vista pre-installed a few weeks ago and I've noticed (using the CPU meter sidebar tool) that my RAM usage is always 60-80%. I've compared it to my PC which usually only has about 20% of its RAM used. I have nothing running that my PC isnt running (using task manager) and it's always very high even on a fresh boot. Is this normal or should I get it checked?

Me and a friend of mine have tried stuff in Vista in order to connect both of our laptops. The easy part was setting up a network connection for windows XP. When it came to setting up a network connection in Vista, we couldn't think of a way on how to do it. We couldn't find an option wherein you could connect to a home or small office network using a lan cable. Is it possible to connect a laptop with XP and another one with Vista without using a router?

I know that spyware programs with things such as screen shot capturing has been installed on the computers at my job that are PC's - but I'm on a MAC. The computer guy here said he doesn't know macs well. I know that at home I can see what's installed by going to my start menu and seeing if it says new programs installed, etc. I'm better with pcs, but not very good with macs. How do I find out? I searched the applications but nothing looks new. There are so many hidden types of files/directories on this mac, how can I figure it out? Thank you!

so i like websites that can teach me interesting junk. how-to sites, common knowledge i may have missed, not so common knowledge, peculiar news... alot of sites i run into are really stupid and start listing lame trivia facts and stuff that just isnt all that interesting. i dont want to here about stuff that isnt useful. im looking for things that make me think--that i can apply. those of u who also spend too much time surfing the web and being frustrated with all the useless junk taking up space prob kinda get wat i mean. my interests are actually really wide, so im just looking for lots of suggestions here. tell me ur fav finds that i may not know of. thanks much!!!

I completed all these steps
1. The files extract to the C:\Cabs\D00377-002-002 folder.

2. From the Start menu, click Run. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\D00377-002-002\Setup.exe. Click OK.

3. In the Device driver installation wizard dialog box, click OK.

4. Files copy.

5. Installation is complete.

than it says FAILURE and it doesnt install
can anyone help me??

i have a tv for my second monitor to use for my karaoke. i am using video out, and i have managed to get the same logo up thats on my laptop. i went into appearance and themes so as to get the second monitor to show a diferent screen, by draging the second monitor into position with the mouse. i must have clicked something wrong as i havent even got the logo thats on my laptop, appearing on my tv. is there anyway to revert back to where i started so as to try again.

I've some Xvid files, and found the subtitles (in a few external file formats, like .txt and .srt). I want to view these videos on a external MPEG4-capable DVD player (so no need to convert to DVD video). Is it possible to have subtitles on videos on such format? How is the general public responding to Windows Vista?

I have DSL and my telephone line is connected to my computer. Is there any free software that will allow me to record telephone conversations to my computer.

In the State in which I live only one person in a telephone conversation needs to be aware that a conversation is being recorded to make it legal. My ex has a boyfriend that has been harassing me and I want a recorded record of every conversation that he chooses to make to my home phone. Does anyone have any ideas on how I might cost effectively accomplish this?
